Unless you uninstalled your previous map version on the computer, it will be there for you inside Mapsource. I will say, though, that I haven't experienced any problems with Mapsource and the current map--and my Mapsource can access 19 different maps including 14 versions current plus the previous 13 of City Navigator.

Though I have to admit the Do we have a list of all the files needed to do a restore? Thinking ahead in case I want to go back. I can't imagine needing to restore every single folder from the unit but then again I'm not sure.
Hard to give a list since different models have different features and file systems. Those with voice command will have an ASR folder that gets updated with the maps. Those without Voice Command will not have that folder. I suppose you could look at the date and time stamp of the gmapprom. Then look for files for same date and times within a few hours depending how long the update took. That would be a start but I'm unsure it would be conclusive. Log In Sign Up. Not a huge deal, but I would like to have my Garmin working if I ever make it back down to Rocky Point. So by selecting both N. America map and Europe in Mapsource, I can combine and upload them to Garmin unit as 1 map, is that correct?
Can you explain what it does? Mapsource expects all the consituent maps and previews as separate files. IMG files and combine them into a new one. For the Garmin XT, it actually can support 4 maps. Gmaptool did merge my Europe and Canada map but they don't load together on my etrex vista even with a 2 gb micro sd card.
I have 4G SD card and am ready to try to merge the maps this weekend. Also, other than the Oregon and Colorado, there is a map segment limit per mapset.
