Foreign service officer test study guide 3rd edition 2009 electronic

Furthermore, because it's positioning in Amazon, we believe this has the best ROI. Its practice test is better than the competition because unlike most, it goes beyond the Knowledge section and digs deep in the English Grammar Usage and even the Personal Statement. Furthermore, compared to the others, the advise given in this study guide is much more useful and practical. With the other study guides, I got the impression they only gave 'general' advice - the same advice you'd give for any standardized test.

However, Robert Clark gave a couple of pointers that I had wished I had known before I took the exam. Second, when doing a Google Search for the company, they don't seem to exist. This seems very shady in practice and makes me feel as though it wasn't written by a "Foreign Service Team. Also, I couldn't shake the feeling that this book similar to our 3 below.

It seemed to repeat someone of the out-of-date information presented in the old version below. Also, there were some suggestions that were too close to 3 below.

So, why the 2 spot? Well, because it's as if they took 3, read the reviews, and made some improvements. There are plenty of study guides on the market, but if you are studying for this exact test, you will want a guide that knows what will be on the test.

This guide sure seems to do exactly that. IT just jumps right into the subject in a very well organized way. It has a few extras as well like test taking tips and study secrets that are also very helpful. This study guide really has it all and everything it has is very important.

You can basically count on needing to know absolutely everything this guide includes. Thank you for cutting out the fluff! The book is really good to study from. The grammar part of it has helped me tons! Very thorough. Covers all aspects of the exam. This prep gives me a sense of confidence that I will do well on the exam. I am very impressed with the Mometrix test preparation books.

I highly recommend it! It covers a breadth of exam areas, which is helpful in reviewing American history, government, math, economics, communications, etc. I would recommend it as a great resource to acquire more practice. Practice makes perfect! However, this isn't really a problem since there are still some excellent recommendations that can be used in the.

So, this gets my 1 because of its cost, the fact that it is was written by a FSO, I felt provided real concrete recommendations and had a representative FSOT practice test. First, its not offered as an ebook but only a physical book. I've been in the industry for years and have never heard of them. Furthermore, doing a Google search, I can't find them anywhere. This therefore leads me to believe that it is a made up group and that it's probably a self-publisher who isn't a FSO.

Normally I would completely walk away from this sort of book. However, I still gave it a try and bought it so as to test it. It gets second and even a mention because I loved that it had two full practice tests in it. They were a bit too easy and could give false confidence, however, it did serve as a great reminder of the extent of the test's scope. It's recommendations and test taking prep work was very basic though.

I feel like they used general test taking practices and put it in this book. There was nothing specific to an FSO's process. Cell phones and other electronic devices are not permitted in the testing center.

Sunglasses and hats are prohibited, as are food and drink. Participants should dress comfortably to take the exam and keep in mind that they will not be interacting with any interviewers during their FSOT testing period. As noted above, the FSOT consists of four sections, each of which is timed. Participants are not allowed to return to a previous test section if they finish a later section with extra time.

The specific content on the exam was determined based on job analysis of practicing foreign service officers and the knowledge and aptitudes that were critical to them. The specific content areas that appear as questions on the test are as follows:.
